How long are your books?
Books are roughly 20-30 pages long depending on the subject matter and the author. Usually we will have a page count for you when you browse the book details. The book length does not include the table of contents, preface etc. (This is usually an extra 5 or so pages)

Why are your books so short?
Most subjects can be explained in a few pages. We leave out the long introductions, boring stories and hot air. We get to the point. We believe people dont have the time to read long winded books. We insist that our authors be concise, accurate and still try to entertain.

Who are your authors?
We have a wide variety of people writing for us. Some are experts in their field with top selling books already on the market. Others are upcoming authors that are trying book and subject ideas. Some are just regular people, that want to share knowledge and life experiences with the public.

I have never written a book before, can I write for your store?
Yes, we will even help you with layouts, book templates and other great tools to get your book going. We have excellent suggestions for authors regarding writing books. You may also qualify for our "E-Z write" template, please enquire for more information.

How does TodayBooks plan to promote my book?
We have a number of innovative ways to promote your book, this is our strength. We will also assist you with great tools to market your book.

Will I get an ISBN number?
Yes, this is allocated when the book goes on sale.

Can you edit my book for me?
We prefer that you submit books ready to go and edited, if we need to edit books it takes away from the marketing budget for your book. We can also recommend editors to you at discounted rates.

Can I submit more than one book?
You can submit as many books as you please.

How much does it cost to list with TodayBooks.com?
There is no listing cost, we pay you a percentage of the retail price, we only make money if your book sells.

TodayBooks agrees to pay a portion of the fees collected in respect of Content that is downloaded or otherwise purchased according to the following rate schedule: TodayBooks will pay the author 20% of retail sales (before tax if applicable) and occasionally may add bonuses if the author links from high ranking web pages to the TodayBooks site and/or the book on the site.

How does this compare to traditional book deals?
Traditional book deals are about 8%, the difference between us and other self-publishing web sites is that we market your book directly. Our largest percentage of sales (besides the credit card fees) is in marketing.

How will I get paid?
Our payments are made every quarter, when the amount you earn reaches a minimum of $20.00, this is to avoid unnecessary bank charges for small amounts your, if your balance does not reach the $20.00 minimum for the month, it carries over to the next month until it gets to that amount. Payment is made via: Paypal, cheque, postal or bank transfer. It is your choice.

How will I know how many books have been sold?
We will send you electronic stats of how your book is performing on a regular basis, we are currently looking at a live version of this within the membership area.

Is there a minimum amount of books I need to write?
No, we do not restrict you, you are not under any obligation to write any number of books.
